Good story, as usual, Josh. It was interesting to study the Jewish dietary traditions in my Human Heritage class and the different theories of why these were put into place. One anthropologist theorizes that it all has to do with keeping everything in the right category. Milk and meat are not in the same category-so no mixing of the 2 in cooking or even in preparation. Ostrich can't be eaten because it's a bird but doesn't fly-just like a penguin. So, off the list as they don't fit into the bird category according to the definition of birds. Stuff like that. Another anthropologist has his way of theorizing why pork can't be eaten. It has to do with what kind of benefit will the population get from it or no benefit form the prohibition. My sister converted to Judaism and it's always fun to hear about the culture. I'm a Mormon and we have our own interesting prohibitions. The culture of food is convoluted, for sure.

Nice drawing, and the stories you add always make them even more entertaining. I was kind of surprised even your favorite food picture had a tragic murder in it though, I'm used to it from your celebrity tributes but I didn't expect it to accompany a picture of a sandwich!
