It was a refreshing change from the dull, grey, depressing recessionary 70's and the wishy-washy governance of Jimmy Carter. The WalMartians were back at work and could afford big houses, two cars, a boat and could watch Dynasty and Dallas on their new 35" TVs. We handily won the war in Grenada and the Reds were on the run. The WalMartians were fat, happy and secure. And the indestructible Grandpa Ronnie was there making sure we were safe and had all of the good things in life.
