The reason I have the stash is because I already have a wallet that has served me well for years. It continues to serve me well. I don't want to throw it away just because someone gave me a new one as a gift. Since most wallets are made of leather and don't really get much abuse, they tend to last for decades. How many wallets can a guy actually wear-out in a lifetime? I'll bet your dad felt the same way (although the bit about waiting in line to buy a new one makes for a better story). Oh no!
