Hey Josh! Great illustration of the honeymoon "continental breakfast". Great story as well! I love stopping by your blog. You are always entertaining. ... A quick breakfast story.: Mom and dad took all seven of us camping one year. My younger brother Matt,(the klutz) broke a bottle of syrup at the breakfast table. We were soon surrounded by a mob of interested yellow jackets. We all got stung at least twice. I got it in the elbow and in the butt!

I'm starving (it is close to dinner time here) and loved your nostalgic roam from one eaterie to the next. I still find I have to have something to read at breakfast and that's all a result of those years with the Cheerio box (my cereal of choice). Have a good weekend.

Nice writing. Your St. Augustine hotel buffet story is classic. You only get those kinds of stories from driving on long road trips. I don't know why, but it reminds me of a diner my family went to in Utah where a neon-lit sign read "Ho-Made Pies." Being a teenager I thought it was very funny at the time.

Oh, and the drawing really captures the essence of your story well.

I remember starting my mornings with heaping, hearty bowls of any sweet cereal out there. And, you're absolutely right, the prize was the more important than the sugar coated nuggets. Quisp, every kind of Cap'n Crunch (regular, Crunch Berries, Peanut Butter, vanilla), the monster cereals, you name it...
